PRE ORDER: A Very Jewish Swimsuit Calendar 5787 - Mitzvah Rate!
Your dream has come true: a calendar features historic Jews in their swimmies. Two year's running, our cover boy is Theodor Adorno, philosopher and cultural critic. This year's calendar is a fundraiser to support the olive harvest work conducted by Center for Jewish Non-violence.
The olive harvest is a significant time of the year in Palestinian society, as it is vital to Palestinian agricultural economy and cultural heritage. Tens of thousands of Palestinian families depend on the olive harvest as their primary source of income. During the harvest season, CJNV participants accompany Palestinians farmers and families on their lands to help in the harvest, act as a solidarity presence, and document when necessary. **CALENDARS SHIP LATE AUGUST/EARLY SEPTEMBER**
The calendar marks Jewish time and has the Gregorian dates for reference. New moons and full moons are noted for each month. All Jewish holidays and a few others we deemed important are included.
The calendars are risograph printed in Tucson, Arizona and hand-bound with a GLOW-IN-THE-DARK coil. May this new year contain light, even small light, that illuminates the darkness.
Your purchase includes a PDF of the zine size version you can print to share with your friends and loved ones for free! Bring a few to shul or the potluck.
The grid and featured typography was hand-drawn by Chava Shapiro during a period of over-caffeinating and daydreaming in the year 5783.
They might have a surprise bound inside them or something special stuffed in the envelope to say Shana Tova!
